Reporting to the General Counsel and acting as assistant and advisor to the MLCO/MLRO, you will play a vital role to lead, develop and oversee the operational performance of the AML team.
Supporting compliance with the firm’s obligations under AML legislation and other associated financial crime requirements such as sanctions.   Ensure AML and associated requirements are embedded within the firm’s overall risk and compliance strategy.  .  You will be responsible for implementing and continually reviewing compliance policies and procedures related to AML and related legislation.
Acting as trusted adviser for Walker Morris you will be the expert in AML, supporting the business with any anti-money laundering queries and providing appropriate guidance.

What you’ll be doing as AML Manager:
Manage the AML team, currently comprised of two AML Administrators.
Review existing AML processes to streamline the identify verification of new clients, conduct ongoing risk assessments and client due diligence.
Assist the business with money laundering queries by providing advice and guidance on appropriate checks needed and further evidence required.
Review the identity information obtained to confirm whether it is sufficient and adequate.
Review sanctions and fraud checks regularly and escalate as appropriate to MLCO/MLRO.
Prepare first draft SARs and DAMLs.
Escalate complex AML queries to MLCO/MLRO.
Raise internal awareness and educate colleagues on the anti-money laundering regulations and internal processes.
Keep the eVerification product and internal audit suppliers under review and manage the supplier relationships.
Assist the General Counsel MLCO/MRLO with their responsibilities and help to develop the anti-money laundering strategy.
What we are looking for:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to reduce complex legislation and guidance into concise easy to understand instructions
Highly developed understanding and experience of dealing with compliance with anti-money laundering legislation and applicable UK legislation
Good academic ability to interpret rules and regulations coupled with a practical common sense approach to their application
A team player who is persuasive with highly developed influencing skills and resilience to cope with those who may need more encouragement than others
Experience working within a regulated environment
