Crime Solicitor

NXT is working in partnership with a well-established and respected law firm in Carlisle, seeking a dedicated and skilled Crime Solicitor to join their dynamic team. As a Crime Solicitor, you will play a pivotal role in representing clients in criminal proceedings, ensuring their rights are upheld and their interests fiercely defended.
Duties will include:
* Providing expert legal representation and advice to clients facing criminal charges
* Attending court proceedings, bail hearings, trials, and appeals as necessary
* Managing a caseload of criminal cases, ensuring rigorous case preparation and strategy development
* Advising clients on their legal rights, potential outcomes, and options available to them
* Building strong relationships with clients and guiding them through the legal process with empathy and professionalism
* Collaborating with colleagues, law enforcement agencies, and relevant parties to secure the best possible outcomes for clients
Skills and Experience:
* Duty Solicitor qualification is essential
* Higher Courts Advocate qualification is highly desirable, although not essential
* Proven experience as a Crime Solicitor, with a deep understanding of criminal law and legal procedures
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively
