Digital Forensics officers
Law enforcement client requires 4 Digital Forensics officers in the Birmingham area.
Location: Tamworth, East of Birmingham, the role is mostly based onsite due to nature of the work, however they can offer occasional working from home days when workload allows it
Duration: 9 months (initial)IR35: InsideMinimum Requirement:- Previous computer forensic experience- ISO 17025:2017 accreditation and forensic regulation for digital forensic laboratory activity
Security Clearance: SC – or the client can put a candidate through SC vetting, this might take 2-3 months or more (so could suit if you have slightly longer notice)
The role overview:To undertake investigations into technology enabled crime
Main Responsibilities:* Assist and promote the attainment, maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 17025:2017 accreditation and forensic regulation for digital forensic laboratory activity;* Maintain a portfolio of technical competencies;* Contribute to tasked Agency activity, gathering evidence and intelligence in accordance with legislation, risk management and policy to disrupt and degrade criminal capability;* Provide digital forensic advice and guidance to teams on a range of digital investigative opportunities;* Conduct laboratory based digital forensic examinations of digital media to acquire optimum intelligence/evidence, in line with accreditation and legislation;* Maintain existing digital forensic services and technical capabilities;* Ensure the support to core investigative functions including quality, secure handling and dissemination of intelligence and evidential material; maintaining confidentiality; sensitivity and duty of care; disclosure, exhibit management, presentation of written and oral evidence;* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to foster collaborative working
Note: An applicant must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 years out of the past 5 years in order to provide the footprint required to conduct an SC clearance check. This is a national requirement for any applicant to UK roles that require SC clearance.
