Southern Education Recruitment are currently working alongside a Mental Health Service based in the Essex area who are currently seeking a Flexible Support Worker to join their team on a permanent contract. Therapeutic optimism is at the heart of all the work carried out by this Mental Health Service, believing all clients with mental health needs can achieve and make positive changes to their lives as they move along their pathway of recovery.

Salary: £21,312.23

About the role:
To support tenants with enduring mental ill health, to live valued lives within the community. This will include the provision of personal, emotional, and social care. To work closely with tenants and relatives/carers, protecting their dignity, choice, self-esteem, and well-being. To take part in the day-to-day running of the house and the development of the service in such a way that tenants’ opportunities for growth and the acquisition of new skills are maximised.
To help develop community links, both within the house and in the external community. To liaise regularly with a range of agencies and individuals, such as Health, Social Services, Voluntary Sector Groups, Department of Social Security, GPs, Carers, and other significant people in the lives of the tenants.
Essential Requirements:
A good standard of education and relevant skills, knowledge, and experience
Experience of supporting clients move on to independence within a time defined recovery path
Experience of working with adults with enduring mental health needs or a similar field
Understanding of Dual Diagnosis and complex needs
Knowledge of The Mental Health Act
Able to work flexibly across 7 days a week on a shift rota basis
