RedLaw have partnered with an international law firm that is currently seeking a Senior Risk Counsel to join their team on a permanent basis.
Collaborating with the Head of Compliance, the role involves offering technical guidance and leadership to the team regarding financial crime compliance matters. This includes advising and interacting with fee-earners, including Partners, to ensure their compliance with financial crime obligations.
The Senior Counsel will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing decision-making processes to ensure adherence to the firm’s policies and procedures across all jurisdictions where the firm operates. Additionally, they will act as the primary point of contact for the New Business Intake team, addressing any escalated queries related to AML and sanctions compliance.
Requirements:
Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification experience, possessing extensive expertise in Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and relevant AML/CTF and sanctions legislation, specifically within a law firm setting.
Alternatively, if non-legally qualified, the candidate should demonstrate equivalent deep technical knowledge and senior-level advisory experience in financial crime compliance matters, supported by relevant professional qualifications and certifications.
