As a Senior Fraud and Risk Officer, you will be responsible for the ongoing assessment of Fraud risks, organizing the framework for action to monitor and prevent the risk of fraud on the Back Market platform. In this role, you will work closely with the finance team to ensure fraud risks are managed effectively.
Data Analysis and Monitoring:
– Conduct in-depth analysis of transactional data using advanced analytical tools and techniques to detect patterns indicative of fraudulent activity.
– Monitor transactions and accounts in real-time to identify suspicious behavior and anomalies, with a focus on both payment and non-payment fraud types.
Investigation and Root Cause Analysis:
– Lead fraud investigations, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to gather evidence and conduct interviews.
– Determine the root cause of potential fraud incidents, including payment fraud and refund abuse/fraud.
– Apply project management skills to coordinate and oversee investigation processes, ensuring timely resolution and mitigation of fraud risks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication:
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Customer Care, Finance, Legal, CyberSec, and Risk Management, to address fraud-related issues and implement effective solutions.
– Serve as a liaison between different departments, facilitating communication and alignment on fraud prevention initiatives.
– Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders at various levels of the organization through reports, presentations, and regular meetings.
– Leverage expertise in payment fraud and non-payment fraud (refund abuse/fraud) to support the prevention strategies accordingly.
Compliance and Reporting:
– Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards related to fraud prevention and detection, including KYC (Know Your Customer) and ID verification.
– Maintain detailed documentation of fraud incidents, investigations, and mitigation strategies for internal records and regulatory reporting purposes.
– Assist in responding to inquiries and requests from regulatory agencies and law enforcement authorities related to fraud investigations.


  • You are perfectly fluent in english
  • You have a minimum of 5 years experience in the fraud prevention
  • Strong project management skills with experience delivering high quality results in a tight deadline environment. Highly organized, motivated, analytical, have a sense of urgency and an ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with an ability to develop solutions working with multiple functional teams. Reliable team player with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Hands-on person able to dive into tickets and investigations
