This role is responsible for;
- Leading best-in-class research and intelligence-led projects focused on determining integrity, fraud or other issues at our clients’ business partners ranging from third party due diligence and strategic intelligence gathering to bespoke investigation tasks. Ensuring the results are presented to the highest standards
- Leading, motivating and developing a team of high-performing consultants
- Developing and responding to revenue targets by demonstrating superior client and account management skills
- Developing complex, bespoke proposals and tasks to stay ahead in a competitive market
- Constantly seeking innovative ways to improve services we offer to our clients
- Working with local and regional Business Intelligence management peers to foster a positive and inclusive environment for the entire team
Tasks and responsibilities
Case work
- Multi-task – oversee multiple assignments, create project teams, set plans, deliverables and project budgets
- Manage output from direct reports: supervise projects, ensure rigorous quality control and oversee delivery of service
- Ensure projects are priced, structured and managed effectively to deliver on profit and within margin targets
- Design and implement strategies to ensure the best sources of information are accessed
Practice and team management
- Lead, develop and coach a high-performing practice team. Identify and resolve skill gaps
- Invest in the ongoing enhancement and development of the team, colleagues, service line and client relationships
- Set, and periodically review, objectives in line with company policy
- Manage effectively the commercial aspects of this practice, which include overall analysis of projects undertaken to ensure targets for profitability, utilisation and realisation are met
Business development
- Collaborate with local client-facing colleagues to build the reputation of Control Risks in the South Korean market
- Consistently develop the company’s positioning with its clients to enhance business development in close co-ordination with the other practice areas, and secure higher fee-earning engagements
- Identify opportunities to differentiate Control Risks services by applying crisis management, fraud and forensics, and political and country risk methodologies from other practice areas
- Support development of technical and operational innovations
- Represent Control Risks at events and other business development functions and assist in developing Control Risks’ profile within the region.
- Work closely with other regional teams on business development initiatives
- Foster thriving client relationships, including exploiting cross-selling opportunities to relevant parts of the business
Knowledge and experience
- Proven experience of effectively managing a team to perform highly, taking responsibility for all written output, and meet/exceed given targets
- Understanding of the complexities of carrying out business intelligence in the North Asia region
- Demonstrable experience of operating within a commercial environment, with specific experience of effectively selling consulting services to clients
Requirements
Qualifications and specialist skills
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Advanced skills in research, business intelligence, analysis, quality control and report writing
- A basic understanding a data analytics, with experience in coding would be welcomed, but not essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ultimate responsibility for reviewing and ensuring documents written in profession business English are “client-ready”
- Ability to task and manage subcontractors for market enquiries
- Close attention to detail is crucial
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines under time pressure
- Demonstrable strong people management skills
- Methodical approach and strong project management skills
- Demonstrable commercial acumen when planning and pricing projects in terms of time, resources and outcomes
