Audit firm independence is an area that draws attention from the regulators, the media and the public, and plays a vital role in protecting Deloitte and its reputation. What will your typical day look like?
In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation of our business policies, delivering complex projects with competing outcomes, and collaborating with our internal teams. Your ability to interpret policies and apply them to real-world scenarios, coupled with your exceptional time management skills, will be instrumental in driving our firm’s success.
This is an internal facing role reviewing partner and staff compliance with our auditor independence framework, as part of our quality control measures. This key role reviews preliminary assessments of independence undertaken by the team and interprets the application of the policy in complex circumstances. You will assist the team with the management of independence compliance and maintaining the systems in place to support this requirement. By working with partners and staff, you will have every opportunity to develop a high profile within the firm, with opportunities for career progression for the right candidate.

About the Team
The Personal Independence team forms part of the National Quality and Risk group. Â They are an interactive, fast paced team, providing critical support to the Deloitte business to ensure the firm, partners and staff comply with auditor independence requirements. The role of Personal Independence is to ensure there is an effective independence quality control framework in place to assist partners and staff with the application of independence policy, maintain operational and compliance systems, provide training, and encourage and support consultation.

Your experiences may include some of the following:
- 3+ years prior experience in quality and risk management preferably from a large professional services firm.
- Strong analytical skills and comfortable in interpreting and applying rules to a range of circumstances.
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills, including the ability to explain risk assessment findings and remediation requirements
- Project management skills and the ability to manage various workstreams and stakeholders would be highly regarded
- Familiarity with independence compliance and relevant regulatory frameworks highly advantageous
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Knowledge and understanding of financial investment products would be highly regarded.
