The opportunity : Associate Consultant-National-Forensics-ASU – Forensics – Investigations & Compliance – Ahmedabad

Job Role:

This role mandate is to deliver EY’s value to the client by being a part of the AML CoE team and supporting Team Leaders / Managers and management to effectively execute AML CoE engagement deliverables, as agreed with the client.

 

Job purpose:

The incumbent will be involved in client engagements related to AML / KYC reviews (E.g.: Customer Due Diligence, Know your customer, Sanctions filtering, Customer Screening, Transaction Monitoring, Money laundering and regulatory investigations, and Open-source intelligence), PMLA reviews (Prevention of Money-laundering Act India) Compliance reviews, etc.

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Perform first / second level review on Customer Due Diligence (CDD) / KYC reviews, remediation activities
  • Conduct Customer screening, Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions filtering, and Lookback review to prevent Money laundering & Terrorist financing
  • Investigate complex alerts & cases for potential money laundering, terrorist financing, corruption, tax evasion & other predicate offenses
  • Review/validate/verify enhanced due diligence on individuals and organizations conducted by the execution team 
  • Act as a Maker / Checker and conduct Quality Control for first-level reviews conducted by Analysts in delivering Quality service throughout the client engagement cycle
  • Ensure identified Risks and issues are reported and escalated to Management on a timely basis.
  • Support Team Leader in promoting the culture of AML compliance across client engagements
  • Ensure timely, efficient reporting of suspicious activity to the Financial Intelligence Unit.
  • Maintain good understanding of current money laundering and terrorist financing issues, including policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practices, criminal typologies, and developing trends
  • When required by the business act as a backup for Team Leader
  • Assist the Team Leaders in training requirements for Analysts and get cross-trained based on business need
  • Cooperate and support the management in the implementation of key initiatives that may arise during the client engagement
  • Be productive across the assigned client engagement activities with the best-in-class EY quality standards
  • Complete all mandatory client and EY’s training without any delays.
  • Understand and maintain client confidentiality & EY independence throughout the course of employment
  • Constantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business
  • Strong analytical skills are required to organize and analyze multiple data sets as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Efficient in MS office and communication skills
  • Engagements may include assessing AML risk at the enterprise and business unit level, drafting and enhancing policies and procedures, creating and delivering training modules, compliance assessments, transaction monitoring “look backs” pursuant to regulatory orders, Know Your Customer (“KYC”) remediations, internal controls assessments, internal investigations, and independent testing.

Qualification:

Academic Qualifications:  Any Post Graduate/Graduate & any related certifications (ACAMS, CFCS, CAMI, etc.) will be an added advantage

 

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • 2-5 Years of post-qualification experience in AML / KYC, Transaction Monitoring,  Compliance experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the consumer banking industry as it relates to AML KYC operations and regulations local as well as Global
  • Ability to conduct research and form views across different legislations and regulations governing various sectors in
  • Experience (if any) with collaborating with co-workers located in different locations both domestically and internationally
