The Opportunity

EY Business Intelligence is a team within the Forensic & Integrity practice focusing on solutions that leverage cutting-edge technology and EY’s industry expertise to provide actionable intelligence on business partners and third parties, and to understand and manage risk.

We have access to hundreds of global public records and proprietary databases in foreign languages and English and efficient search technology that allows us to provide a broad understanding of available intelligence related to a target.

Our Business Intelligence team is comprised of over 250 dedicated investigative researchers across 10 regional research hubs covering 40 languages and 150 countries. With a diverse team of accountants, lawyers, former law enforcement officials, regulators, and intelligence officers, we provide a broad range of investigative due diligence and research that can be tailored to a client’s specific needs.


Your Key Responsibilities

This role functions as an integral team member supporting the Business Intelligence team, providing details which are either utilized in a risk management and compliance context or as a critical part of fraud investigations. The Business Intelligence Staff conducts research on entities and individuals and reports on their corporate/professional background, where they operate/reside, relationships and affiliations with governments and potential threat actors, criminal history, regulatory and non-compliance history, and any other adverse information. As a Business Intelligence Staff, you’ll customize your research and reporting based on the clients desired scope and methodology. You will have access to numerous databases and the opportunity to communicate directly with court document retrieval experts, school officials, and EY professionals across the globe.


To qualify for the role you must have

  • A Bachelor degree
  • 3+ years related work experience – research/writing experience (preferably litigation, corporation, media, or open records research)
  • Background in Political Science, International Affairs, Criminal Justice, Journalism, Communications or Legal/Compliance is preferred
  • Strong understanding of and experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe; familiarity with research tools, such as Lexis Nexis, is a plus.
  • Business proficiency in languages other than English is highly preferred (Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, or Russian ideal)
