Othram is the world’s only laboratory purpose-built to combine genome sequencing with advanced human identification applications. The laboratory, based in The Woodlands, Texas, is also the only facility in the United States or Canada offering end-to-end, in-house processing from forensic evidence to investigative leads. Over the last three years, this technology has helped law enforcement crack hundreds of cases at the local, state, and federal level, many of which had been unsolved for decades.
The Forensic Genetic Genealogist will be responsible for using genetic and genealogical tools and techniques to assist with human identification from comprehensive DNA profiles. The ideal candidate will independently compile and document investigative leads for law enforcement. The Forensic Genetic Genealogist must be data-driven, proactive, and an excellent verbal and written communicator. Remote candidates will be considered.
A minimum of three years of experience using genetic genealogy to identify biological parents, unidentified remains, and/or DNA from crime scene investigations.
Ability to communicate and present investigative research in a clear and logical manner, through oral and written reports, and diagrams and charts.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to meet weekly and monthly deadlines.
Ability to collaborate with large diverse teams.
Willingness to adhere to strict confidentiality policies and practices.
