We are currently recruiting for a Medical Director to function as a Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Central Regional Hospital (CRH). The Medical Director I is a psychiatrist who works directly with the Chief Medical Officer, overseeing the organization, planning and delivery of psychiatric/clinical care provided at the hospital. The Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) is involved in direct supervision of one or more of the Unit Clinical Directors on the various service units, generally divided by subspecialties. The DCMO is involved in oversight of psychiatric training and advises the local site supervisors of the Duke and UNC residency training programs. The DCMO is actively involved in policy making that involves the clinical care provided by the various service areas. The DCMO will be involved in preparation and oversight of regulatory visits/surveys by Joint Commission and CMS. The DCMO serves on the hospital’s Executive Team and in that role would collaborate with the hospital leadership and with other professional disciplines to ensure that appropriate care is provided and that the hospital mission, values and goals are transmitted to clinical staff.
This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.  The normal working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with 24-hour coverage/responsibility. Flexibility is required in this role to meet hospital needs. This position is designated as Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

 CRH is a 398-bed state operated psychiatric hospital. It provides in-patient psychiatric care to patients of all ages with significant mental health illness. This care is provided over a broad range of services areas, including Adult Admissions, Geriatric Services, Community Transition Unit, Child and Adolescent Unit and Forensic Services. The hospital has an ECT service and a robust primary care service for the in-patients it serves. CRH is a training site for the Duke University and University of North Carolina Psychiatric Residency programs and is involved in training and internships involving multiple professional disciplines.
 CRH is located in Butner, NC. Our location is ideal with four seasons, mild temperatures and provides an easy commute to the N.C.  mountains or beaches.
