The Office of the State’s Attorney is seeking to fill the position of Investigator. This is a grant- funded position and is located at 120 E. Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD.
Job description: The Criminal Investigations Unit is responsible for all aspects of investigative support from pulling sensitive records such as criminal background histories to locating and interviewing witnesses. The duties of this position may include, but are not limited to:
Reviewing and screening felony economic criminal matters
- Locating witnesses, experts, law enforcement witnesses
- Interviewing a wide range of witnesses, including potentially hostile witnesses
- Reviewing criminal background histories, crime law reports, forensic accounting reports, among other related records
- Preparing timelines, spreadsheets, memoranda or other case briefing documents
- Providing regular reports on investigations to prosecutors
- Other related tasks as required
Qualifications: Applicants must have at least five years of experience in criminal investigation. Prior work experience in a law enforcement agency is required. A bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree in criminal justice, forensic accounting, criminology or forensic science is preferred. Prior forensic accounting, finance, white collar criminal justice experience is also strongly preferred. Applicants must possess demonstrated adherence to ethical standards and sound judgment. Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment. Selected candidates will be required to pass a criminal background check before starting employment.

Salary: $50,013 – $60,785, commensurate with experience + comprehensive benefits package.
