LCSW-C Social Work Supervisor

Special Victims Unit

The Office of the State’s Attorney is seeking to fill the position of Social Worker for its Special Victims Unit. The Special Victims Unit handles cases involving child and adult sexual abuse, physical child abuse, domestic violence, human trafficking and elder abuse. This full-time position is located at 120 East Baltimore St., Baltimore, MD 21202.

The Social Worker conducts forensic interviews with both child and adult victims and witnesses and provides written reports of the interviews including sentencing recommendations; compiles psychosocial histories of adult victims; coordinates sentencing recommendations with social service agencies; collaborates with attorneys during trial preparation and assists with crafting developmentally appropriate questions for abuse victims; provides emotional support, safety planning and crisis intervention to victims and family members and performs other related duties.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be licensed as an LCSW-C by the Maryland Board of Social Workers and must have at least three years of assessment and counseling experience. Experience in the criminal justice system is preferred. Applicants must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be highly organized and be able to meet deadlines. Selected candidate will be required to submit to drug and alcohol testing as well as a criminal background check before starting employment.

Salary: Starting Salary is $79,160 + commensurate with experience. Benefits and paid leave are also associated with this position.
