This vacancy is located in the Nursing Department/Secure Forensic Facility (SFF) of Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System in Jackson, LA. ELMHS is the largest 24-hour, multi-site, state psychiatric complex, comprised of residential, outpatient and inpatient services.

The position may be filled as either a Probational or Job Appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agencywide permanent status employees); by Detail to Special Duty; or as a part-time, temporary WAE. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointment if selected. If filled as a Job Appointment, there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a Probational Appointment should funding become available.

Salary is negotiable based on experience. 
 

Special Entrance Rate (SER) of Pay based on years of experience as a licensed LPN.
 LPN 1:$1,558.40-biweekly/$19.48-hourly
 LPN 2:$1,667.20-biweekly/$20.84-hourly
 LPN 3:$1,784.00 biweekly/$22.30-hourly
 
 
 Premium Pay (Per Hour Physically Worked)
$10.00 – Recruitment / Retention
 
Longevity Pay (Per Hour Physically Worked)
0 months to less than 6 months – $2.00
6 months to less than 3 years – $3.00
3 years to less than 5 years – $4.00
5 years or greater – $5.00
 
 This position is in a Career Progression Group and may be filled as a Practical Nurse–Licensed 1, 2, or 3 depending on the qualifications of the candidate selected.  The maximum salary for the Practical Nurse–Licensed 3 Depends on Qualifications.
