As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist for LSS, responsibilities will include: Providing supervision and direction of the LSS Information Technology (IT) Specialists for the development and upkeep of LSS system utilities/programs to assist with forensic workflows, data processing, loading, analysis, and review. Evaluating and reviewing platform technologies and determining how to update on-premises solutions to Cloud platforms – including the understanding of Cloud architecture, data migration, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and data analytics capabilities. Providing supervision and direction for remote trial logistics teams to ensure proper support and services are in place for all remote trial locations. Providing support for the consultation on best practices regarding electronic discovery (eDiscovery) and forensics – collection, processing, loading, scanning, troubleshooting, and evaluation of data, using analytics tools. Providing direction to internal staff and external vendors for the processing of electronically stored information (ESI) from seized forensic images and loading of productions received from producing parties. Writing and reviewing ESI documentation and data extraction guidelines. Serving as a technical advisor in discovery negotiations for corporate database information and transactional data used by Division economists in investigations. Creating and maintaining documentation to support custom developed solutions using approved coding framework, including the use of a script library, as well as preparation of configuration change management documentation. Interpreting complex technical requirements into practical terms for ESI processing, coding layout design, and implementation of scripting solutions, where necessary. Developing, reviewing, and maintaining production specifications and load file/processing checklists, updating and annotating for in-house use. Performing other duties as assigned.
To qualify for this position applicants must possess one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade as listed below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position as described below, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level. EXAMPLES of qualifying specialized experience at the GS-13 level include: Providing supervision and direction to a staff that provides litigation support for the development and upkeep of litigation support system utilities/programs to assist with forensic workflows, data processing, loading, analysis, and review; Evaluating and reviewing platform technologies and determining how to update on-premises solutions to Cloud platforms – including the understanding of Cloud architecture, data migration, AI, and data analytics capabilities; Developing and implementing automated processes and technology solutions to move large volumes of data quickly from point to point and to streamline data workflows; Serving as a resource in the areas of deduplication, use of search terms, technology-assisted review, early case assessment, and evaluation of discovery burden claims; and Writing and reviewing ESI documentation and data extraction guidelines.
