Join an experienced team of enthusiastic cybersecurity professionals at the Department of Health (DOH) Department Security Office (DSO) to improve our capability to protect the privacy and security of Alaskan citizens’ confidential information! Identify and mitigate risk through cybersecurity analytics, risk assessment, legal compliance, workforce education, incident response, and more. Engage in investigations and continuous monitoring of our complex environment to improve our defense and identify malicious actors. The working environment you can expect:
This position can be based out of either Downtown Juneau or Midtown Anchorage. Position may be working remotely at times based on current SOA and DOH work environment guidelines.
Who we are looking for:
As a flexible position, we are looking for technically skilled candidates with experience that ranges from incidental information security experience to seasoned information security engineers. Our current need is for a more seasoned candidate, but we’ll be happy to train up a promising candidate. To succeed in this position, a candidate must have experience where the majority of your work was conducted in one or more of these technical areas:
- Data center operations administration, with fluency in one more area: server OS administration, virtualization, storage, or compute
- Cloud services administration
- Network administration
- Programming, with fluency in one or more programming languages
Other areas of experience that address information security and legal compliance are desirable but not required, such as HIPAA, PCI, CJIS or FISMA compliance, forensic investigations, threat hunting, vulnerability scanning, and physical security assessment.
