Crime Lab Evidence Technician

The City of Boise is looking for an organized team player to join our Police Department’s Crime Laboratory Division! 

The Crime Lab Evidence Technician is an integral member of the Crime Laboratory.  This position will perform technical, field, and administrative support duties for the Crime Laboratory. Utilize multiple computer databases, complete extensive research by gathering and disseminating background, arrest history, and/or court proceedings as it relates to forensic investigations. Perform data entry and tracking of intelligence, evidence processing requests, and statistical information. Maintain integrity of evidence collected and transported to and from other law enforcement agencies or crime scenes for analysis. Assist Criminalists in proper preservation, documentation, and management of physical evidence at crime scenes or in the laboratory. Perform work following ISO 17025 standards, including standard operating procedures and quality assurance guidelines. Work is performed independently under general supervision and the guidance of Criminalists. This position is subject to be called out to crime scenes for evidence management and documentation purposes.
