The Sheriff ‘s Office is comprised of the Administration, Corrections and Enforcement Operation Bureaus.  The Sheriff’s Office delivers public safety to the residents of Monterey County by providing 24-hour uniformed patrol, investigations, custody services, court security, and law enforcement support.
 
The Digital Forensics Investigator is a non-sworn position responsible for all aspects of evidence handling in a forensically sound manner, including evidence that may have been deleted, damaged, encrypted or otherwise manipulated. Incumbents collaborate with investigators and law enforcement.
 
The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform forensic examination, analysis, and evaluation of electronically stored data.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to read, understand, interpret laws, and be aware of chain-of-custody when working with investigators and prosecutors.
 
The Eligible List established by this recruitment process may be used County-wide to fill current and future vacancies on a regular full-time, part-time, or temporary basis.
