The City of Roanoke is seeking a Fingerprint Technician to perform a wide range of detailed technical work in the collection, identification, classification and transportation of fingerprint evidence gathered from a crime scene in order to provide information that will lead to an arrest and conviction, if appropriate. Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience in forensic science, natural science, police science, criminal justice, or related field. Two or more years of related experience and/or training in police investigative work, crime prevention or law enforcement, preferred. AFIS certification required.
