Probationary Period: 12 months
Supervises and practices non-sworn crime investigation work to include field, office, and laboratory assignments at a variety of crime scenes. Responds to process active crime scenes and assists Detective Bureau investigations. Use chemical, microscopic, instrumental, and physical methods to analyze various items of evidence. Conducts fingerprint comparisons and identifications. Responsible for preparing written reports on findings and provides subsequent courtroom testimony. Conducts research regarding new technologies, equipment, and techniques to enhance the forensic identification unit.
