The Clark County Coroner/Medical Examiner Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for Medical Examiner/Forensic Pathologist. This office serves Clark County, Nevada, which includes Las Vegas and surrounding urban and rural areas, with a combined population of over 2.2 million people. This office also provides autopsy services to neighbor counties and is dual accredited by the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME) and the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners (IACME). This position performs autopsies, head posts and external examinations; provides medical records reviews for cases completed as Medical Examiner Sign-outs; conducts pathological and toxicological analyses; confers and coordinates with death investigators and law enforcement; determines the cause of death and the manner of death; writes thorough reports effectively conveying findings and opinions; has good communication skills in order to discuss cases with family members, law enforcement and attorneys; provides court testimony.
