THE OPPORTUNITY
OCIT Shared Services is seeking an experienced Senior Information Technologist to lead the Enterprise and Cloud Delivery team. Selected candidate will oversee a team of technical staff and aid in the design, configuration, and ongoing support of County on-premises enterprise services and cloud offerings utilizing Microsoft Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune) and the County’s cloud datacenter in Azure for Government.
In addition, the Senior Information Technologist will perform, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Designing, configuring, installing of on-premises solutions, including but not limited to, Citrix Xenapp or XenDesktop, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager [SCCM], Exchange, Active Directory, VMWare, Hyper-V, and MobileIron and Intune.
- Senior Information Technologist will also supervise staff in End User Support, providing tier one and tier two support of agency information systems, including desktops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals, and agency commercial and Custom off the Shelf (CotS) applications.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Computer Science, Information Computer Technology, Information Systems, or in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience using the following or comparable software: Azure Cloud, Mail Hygiene and routing, VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Active Directory, Citrix Xenapp or XenDesktop servers, MobileIron or Intune.
In addition, the ideal candidate will possess an IT security and/or compliance background as well as extensive professional work experience and/or knowledge in the following core competencies:
Information Technology Knowledge | Software Application Experience
- Strong experience with migrating workloads to Azure
- Installing, configuring, and supporting Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019 and 2022 in an enterprise environment
- Developing and maintaining “gold master” images for enterprise desktops and servers
- Significant of experience deploying/managing cloud-based network infrastructures
- Utilizing Active Directory Domain Services
- Understanding and applying scripting languages, such as PowerShell and Bash
- Installing and providing support for MDM solutions, such as MobileIron or Intune
- Significant experience working with Azure to drive service improvements and optimization
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as hypervisors, containers, and software-defined networking (SDN), used in cloud environments
- Implementing enterprise security best practices including encryption, implicit & explicit permissions, multi-factor authentication, auditing and digital forensics, and data retention
- Designing, implementing, and providing ongoing maintenance of OS images, application packages, and software updates for SCCM
- Utilizing planning and design concepts for an enterprise environment including high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery
- Preparing and maintaining documentation of department processes and procedures
- Utilizing network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, ARP

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Candidates will be interviewed and rated by panel of job knowledge experts. Each candidate’s rating will be based on responses to a series of structured questions designed to elicit the candidate’s qualifications for the job.
Eligible List
Once the assessment has been completed, HRS will establish an eligible list of candidates. Candidates placed on the eligible list may be referred to a selection interview to be considered for present and future vacancies.
Based on the County’s needs, the selection procedures listed above may be modified. All candidates will be notified of any changes in the selection procedure.
