We are currently recruiting for Health Care Technician I’s to function as Therapeutic Support Specialists on the Forensic Services Unit (specifically, primary care unit of Forensic Minimum on CRH annex) at Central Regional Hospital. The Forensic Services Unit (FSU) is a three sectional unit serving the Pretrial/Maximum, Medium and Minimum security needs of the court-ordered patients. FSU provides services for all counties in the entire State of North Carolina.
The primary purpose of this position is to monitor patients and perform technical procedures (within scope of practice). Responsibilities include but not limited to: assisting patients with activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, assisting with hospital/unit –based programming, engaging patients in behavioral activities, and following ordered patient care. All healthcare duties are delegated by and completed under the supervisor of a Licensed Nurse.
These are full-time positions and eligible for the full State benefits package. Normal work hours are 7:00am-3:30pm; 3:00pm – 11:30pm, or 11:00pm – 7:30am, Monday – Friday, with alternating weekends; working holidays. These positions are deemed mandatory during adverse weather events, which will be discussed in detail during the interview process.
As of June 1, 2023, the new salary range will be $28,742 – $43,112.
